There's a special kind of pain in growing up.

Losing friends not because you don't love them but because they left.

From spending every single day together to a few texts between classes and maybe a call over the weekend.

You start to grow apart, not because you no longer need each other but because when you reach out someone new is there. Someone older and changed.

Sure you'll always remember how she took her coffee (not really tasting like coffee at all) but it feels like the last time you ordered together is lost so many summers ago.

You curl your hair the way she taught you and think back on the last dance you shared. Neither of you had dates but you had each other.

Maybe you said "I love you" too much, maybe you never said it at all but you both felt it and that's what matters when the leaves start turning without her by your side.

I raised my hand for the first time in class today. And I got it wrong. I raised my hand for the second time and got it wrong again!

But it was more relieving than embarrassing. You HAVE to be comfortable with imperfection. You will be loved and accepted not for being perfect but for being courageous. Girls and boys, you are not the only one who's struggling, but you gotta keep trying anyway. (period)

I don't write much online, but today i did the bravest thing i could ever do. And I'm hella proud.

A couple months back my camera equipment got stolen while on tour. I started a gofundme & hella people pitched in to get my equipment back, so I wanted to give back to them by creating a yearbook of the city. 🙏🏾 this was the first semester.
